Choosing a wedding venue is one of the most important decisions any couple will make in their lives. This is where you will be spending most of your time on your big day; therefore it is important that you make the correct decision. Before deciding on that dream venue whether it is a castle, Church, Hotel or on the beach in the Caribbean there are many factors to consider.

The number of people that are invited to your wedding will affect the final decision you make when choosing a wedding venue, usually everyone who attends the ceremony will be invited to the reception also. Depending on where the ceremony is and whether you want a private ceremony or not, extra guests can be invited to the wedding reception. For those of you with many guests consider somewhere that is designed for wedding receptions with the facilities to accommodate all your needs.

Consider all your cost when deciding on a venue as there is much more to pay for. Most wedding reception venues will charge hire for the venue and then a price per head for food and drink. So when making this decision do not forget about other costs; entertainment, photographer, sending invites, flowers, chauffeur-driven cars, etc.

Once you have found a venue for where you want to spend your wedding day there are several things to think about and consider insuring that the venue is suitable for you.

Ask yourself how many people are going to come to your wedding?

Do you want separate venues for your ceremony and reception?

Visit all the venues you consider and get a feel for the place?

Consider churches, gardens, and any building that rents space as a viable option.

Are there sufficient car parking arrangements?

Is the reception venue within a reasonable distance of the ceremony? Is it easy to find, or well sign-posted?

Is there accommodation at the venue, or nearby?

Are decorations included or will you have to provide flowers, banners, balloons, etc.

Compare prices of all of the venues you are considering.

In recent years it has become increasingly popular to hold a civil ceremony rather than a traditional service. Just because you choose not to hold a religious ceremony should not mean you miss out on the magic and atmosphere that a church provides. There are many beautiful locations that have been licensed to hold civil ceremonies. Today the variation and choice in wedding venues is greater than ever with only your imagination limiting your decision.

Beautiful, romantic and adventurous venues are now licensed to provide exactly what you wish for when it comes to your wedding day and the choice is becoming harder and harder with all the different options that are available. Even the most bizarre of visions can be accomplished with careful planning and a little research. However, whether you want a traditional venue or something slightly different you still have to consider all your options and plan carefully to avoid your big day turning into a stressful task.
