There are so many different media players online, how do you know which is the best? There are even more promotional media players. In fact, if you want to download free music online, more often than not the only way to do that is to download some company’s proprietary corporate media player. Is that a good idea? What if you already have a branded media player built into your computer, one that you like? Can your customized media player compete?

Selecting The Best Media Player

It is often hard to decide what the best media player is. Often the best media player is simply one that is a customized media player. If you get a personalized media player, one that works for you and plays your videos and songs, well the chances are high you will be happy.

That said there are many different options when selecting promotional media players. You don’t have to stick with the one that comes with your computer. There are many media players for many different things, like viewing attachments you receive that include music or videos for example.

Some of the more popular customized media players or branded media players include: Real Time, QuickTime and of course, Windows Media Player.

Is Your Media Player Worthy?

If you recently bought a new computer with Windows then undoubtedly you have Windows Media Player installed. Do you think media players like the Windows media player is worthy of your needs? Many media players can’t compete with the high tech features offered by basic media players like Windows Media Players because they were developed by high tech teams.

But, you should know there are cases where media players simply can’t play the music or videos that you need them too, and then you are stuck. Why? Not all videos come in the same format. Some come in specific formats that require specific branded media players to open. So if your media player is formatted for Real Time and you have Windows Media Players on all your computers, you won’t be able to play it until you download Windows Media Players onto one or all of your computers.

Quick Tips For Running Media Players

Here are some quick tips for helping you out with general media players:

• Real Media players tend to use files that start with .r like .ra for example

• QuickTime tends to have documents ending in .mp4 or .mov and can also play iTunes

• Windows media players play files that always tend to start with a .w like .wmv so keep that in mind

You may be able to discern what types of files a website uses just by looking at the letters after the (dot) in the file name. This will tell you if the media players you have installed on your computers will play the video or other products you download to them.

Can you get media players to play all the different formats? You can although it will take you some time to set it up. However some media players including Media Player Classic with a little canoodling will allow you to play all three. Why not just try that?
