The demands of children for original and exciting gifts on their birthdays or at Christmas are legendary and the more expensive the toy, the quicker they will end up playing with the box. The range of toys for children goes out quicker than the celebrity careers of Big Brother contestants and this article examines three top toys for children to help you in keeping them occupied.

First up is the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo, which is for overactive wandering tots that cannot keep out of trouble. If your child is like a magnet to the most hazardous objects in the room then this could well be for you. It is a self assembly set that has a padded seat and three sturdy springs so that your child can amuse themselves in safety. The based can swivel 360 degrees so you can point them in the direction of the TV or another family member. It is relatively easy to assemble and has a variety of activities but is a real space consumer and costs 80GBP.

Next we have the toys for children solution for pushy parents. If you are convinced your child is the next Einstein then this could be for you, the Leap Frog Bilingual Learning Drum. You might well have to invest in some earplugs for the rest of the family but it is colourful, musical, teaches French and more importantly has an off switch. It only costs 15GBP so is great value providing you incur no damage costs when the repetitive tune bores directly into your mind causing you to smash household objects.

Finally we have the Fiction Meteor remote control car, which is a futuristic model that will have you fighting with your children for a go. It is not only futuristic in look as it resembles a space ship of some description, but it is also futuristic as it uses infra-red light beams. It has a range of three metres and has some impressive speeds providing the batteries are fully charged. The charge takes about 6-8 hours and there is a lack of power which might leave you feeling a bit impotent when paired with traditional supped up models, however it is great for younger teens wanting to race inside.

Whatever you choose from the vast array of toys for children you can more or less guarantee that they will want something else, probably something that came on TV five minutes ago that is completely unsuitable. The toys featured here are for a range of age groups and it is advisable to ensure that the toys are safe for your childs age before purchase.
