Anyone involved in MLM marketing knows how important it is to recruit and generate new leads. Regardless of your industry, some techniques can be used across the board. Your business is Internet-based, and the Internet is the best place to get all the information you need to establish a good recruiting system.

The first question you may want answered is how to eliminate or bypass the majority of people who will NOT follow through even though they may sign up for a marketing system. Like most other things requiring entrepreneurial drive and dedication, the reality is that most people just do not have the motivation to follow through. This failure to perform translates into a lot of potentially wasted hours for you.

The trick is to find a direct route to the people who are most likely to perform well within your system. A quick search of the Internet will turn up some very useful advice that can expedite your search. You will always need to recruit high performers to establish long-term growth of your business.

Most recruiters start out by contacting members of their family and/or friends. But let's face it: you can't keep relying on them as a source of recruitment. Not if you value your relationships. You'll get the hint when they stop opening your e-mails!

So whom do you go to? Who are the people in your community who are already proven leaders? They may be elected officials or successful business people. It's not a bad place to start. Even if your response is relatively low, anyone from this group who decides to sign on is likely to perform very well. They are already leaders and are used to assuming leadership roles.

If you are good at what you do, you will attract leaders that you don't know. People may contact you because they heard about your success or your system. They may have seen your website and been impressed with what they saw. Their reason for taking the initiative to contact you doesn't really matter. What matters is they have already exhibited the kind of leadership qualities that can make a difference in your business growth.

Keep in mind that what caught their attention in the first place was something that struck them as innovative. That is an important characteristic to maintain. The more you know about your business and the MLM industry, the more cutting edge you can be. Don't underestimate the value of that characteristic. It will set you off from all the run of the mill marketing systems and draw potential recruits to your business.

Another way to attract potential recruits is to establish yourself within the industry. You may want to consider writing a blog that provides useful information about your industry. You can attract more leads than you might imagine if you do it skillfully. You have to provide real information on a consistent basis that is not viewed merely as a pitch for your business. The less you mention your own business in your blog, the more receptive potential leads will be to your information. Once they view you as an expert in your industry they will be more amenable to looking towards you as a mentor. A good blogger can generate many leads that are more likely to become recruits.

Finally don't overlook the many web-based businesses that generate leads for you. There are a number of systems that are fairly good. Most require some kind of payment directly from you in order to access their system. Others are paid on the business you generate from using their systems.

Some systems are better than others. Be prepared to do a lot of investigating and testing out of systems before you focus on one or two that seem to suit the kind of industry you are involved in.

When recruiting new members consider your long-term business growth and how the recruits will help you achieve the kind of success you want. Accomplishing that goal takes time. It is not something that will happen overnight. But if you are diligent and patient, you can grow your business. Do your homework. It's all in your hands.
