Are you finding nail ringworm to be disconcerting? Did it cross your mind that you could remedy it on your own? You have a good choice of easy to use home remedies for nail ringworm. You don't have to automatically have to go a doctor for treatment.

In saying that though, you will need to see your doctor for a correct diagnosis

It has never been known to be dangerous to a sufferer's health, but has proven to be an annoying ailment for quite a few people. The start of an infection can be as insignificant as a tiny line on a toe. This could soon transmit to other toes, and then become a larger problem. Medical treatments can be hazardous, expensive, and you need to take them orally for up to 12 months.

Here a selection of easy to use natural remedies for your nail ringworm...

You can soak your infected nails for about fifteen minutes every day in slightly warm water and equal parts apple cider vinegar. The apple cider vinegar aids in restoring the skins natural PH balance. This makes your nails more resistant to fungal infections. After you have soaked your nails for 15 minutes make sure to dry your feet completely. Use a blow dryer (on low heat), if necessary. Drying the infected area out thoroughly will prevent any moisture to remain between your toes, and keep nail the ringworm away. Moisture is one of the main reasons for the appearance of nail ringworm.

Tea tree oil is readily available at your local heath store. Use a swab to put some on and underneath the edge of your nail. Use small amount of tea tree oil as possible in each application as it is very active and if it makes contact with your skin, there is a chance that your skin probably will peel off. Be extra careful not to let it come in contact with your skin in each application. If your goal is to achieve ringworm free nails then this is an ideal treatment.

Lapacha tea is yet another natural cure that can be found in any health food store. It's as simple as brewing the tea and then soaking the infected nails. If this is done twice a day results are assured.

There are a few other mild substances that can cure nail ringworm, like Vicks Vaporub, oil of oregano and olive leaf extract. Using something more oily will kill the substance head on and protects the area thoroughly.

Be consistent with any of these natural cures till your nail ringworm has gone. Nail ringworm usually gets a hold deep in the nail bed, and that's why it's important to continue with the natural treatment you have chosen till the nail grows out.

Preventing your nail ringworm from happening in the first place is a better option than curing yourself every time you're infected.

Change your socks regularly as they may also encourage nail ringworm to make a home under your nails. Wash your socks on the hottest setting that they will allow so none of the infecting fungus survives. Also clean your socks with a soap powder that has the least amount of fragrances and chemicals in as possible. These can throw out your skins natural PH balance, and this makes it favourable for the ringworm.

It is imperative to air your feet as often as possible. The infecting fungus loves your feet to be warm and moist. Letting them breath stops the fungus from infecting you.

Wearing loose fitting footwear will help prevent moisture from forming. Tight footwear creates a moister, warmer foot that the ringworm loves. Take your footwear off any occasion you can to help with the air circulation your feet need.

Remember to buy new footwear when you have successfully treated your nail ringworm. The last thing you need is any surviving ringworm to start the infection again.
